You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A cube has a volume of 343 cubic centimeter, what volume of the cube must be curved off to make the largest cylinder possible?
;
Find the length of the side of a cube with a vol of 343 cu/cm
Find the cube root of 343
s+=+3sqrt%28343%29
s = 7 cm
:
From this we know the height of the cylinder will be 7 cm and the diameter of the cylinder will also be 7 cm. Therefore the radius will be 3.5 cm
let v = the volume to be carved off
v+=+343+-+%28pi%2A3.5%5E2%2A7%29
v = 343 - 269.4
v = 73.6 cu/cm to be carved off
