is it then 6x%2B12x-8=6x%2B2 ..yes, it is
then 18x-8=6x%2B2 ...........yes, it is. Now add -6x to both sides

x=-2+ this is not ok !
you have to do it this way:
18x+-+%286x%29+-+%288%29=+6x+-+%286x%29+%2B+2
12x+-+%288%29+=+2......add %2B8 to both sides
12x+%2B+8+-+%288%29+=+2+%2B+8
12x+=+10..divide both sides by 2
6x+=+5
x+=+5%2F6
