Question 1036840: If you have a volume of 500000 cm cubed and 40 cm diameter what is the hight?

40 diameter = 20 radius. Correct? Diameter is from one edge of the circle to the opposite edge and radius is from the center of the circle to the edge, so radius is 1/2 diameter.
r^2Pi is the area of the circle
20^2Pi = 400Pi = 1256.64
Now, to get the volume of the cylinder, we would multiply that times the height:
V = 1256.64*h
Since we know the volume but not the height, we divide both sides by 1256.64:
V/1256.64 = h
500000/1256.64 = h = 397.89 cm is the height of the cylinder
