Question 984223: Forgive me, but I forgot to ask what the vertical component is the following question:
Consider a vector for which a= 48º30' and whose magnitude is 32.6. What is the vertical component? (Enter you answer accurate to one decimal place.)
Thank you.
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
vector has a 48d30' angle to horizontal and is 32.6 units long.
That is a hypotenuse, if you wish.
The vertical part is opposite over hypotenuse or the sine.
So, sin 48d30'=vertical/32.6
32.6 *sin 48d30'=24.42 units.
