Two men leave from point A. The first man heads east at a rate of 20mph. The second man, leaving 30 minutes after the first man, heads south at a rate of 10Mph. What is their total distance apart after 2hours?

The second man, leaving 30 minutes after the first man, heads south at a rate of 10Mph.
What is their total distance apart after 2hours?

First man traveled 20 mph * 2 hours = 40 miles East.


Second man traveled 10 mph * 1.5 hours = 15 miles South.


To find the distance, use the Pythagoras


    distance =  = 42.72 miles.    ANSWER
