Question 1046967: A gnat takes off from one end of a pencil and flies around erratically for 30.1 seconds before landing on the other end of the same pencil. If the gnat flew a total distance of 1.65 meters, and the pencil is 0.0563 m long, find the gnat\'s average speed, as well as the magnitude of the gnat\'s average velocity vector.

The gnat ended up only traveling 0.563 m in the 30.1 seconds.

Its average speed was therefore 0.563 m in 30.1 seconds or

0.563/30.1 m/s or 0.0187 m/s. That's also the magnitude of
the gnat's average velocity vector.
