Question 991092: find cos of theata if csc of theata is -2 and cos of theata >0
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
find cos(t) if csc(t) = -2 and cos(t) > 0
=======
Note: If csc is negative and cos is positive, the angle in in QIV
where x is positive and y is negative.
--------
Since csc = r/y = -2, r = 2 and y = -1
-----
Then x = sqrt(2^2-1^2] = sqrt(3)
------
Ans: cos(t) = x/r = sqrt(3)/2
