Angle of elevation (traffic)
A person driving in a sedan is driving too close to the back of an 18 wheeler on an interstate highway. He decides to back off until he can see the entire truck (to the top). If the height of the trailer is 15 feet and the sedan driver�s angle of elevation (to the top of the trailer from the horizontal line with the bottom of the trailer) is roughly 70�. How far is he sitting from the end of the trailer?

you have a right triangle, let d be the distance from the truck, h is height of truck, then
tan(70) = h / d
d = h / tan(70)
d = 15 / 2.747477419
d = 5.459553514
he is sitting 5.5 feet from the end of the trailer
