Illustrate and solve this problem.
The Quezon Memorial tower casts a shadow 25 meters long when the angle of elevation of the sun is 60°15'. What is the height of the tower?

Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
tan(60 degrees 15 minutes) = height of building(h) / length of shadow
*******************************************************************
note 1 degree = 60 minutes, therefore
60 degrees 15 minutes = 60.25 degrees
*******************************************************************
tan(60.25) = h / 25
1.74963712 = h / 25
h = 1.74963712 * 25 = 43.740928005
height of building is approx 43.74 meters
