Construct a right angled triangle
Give the hypotenuse the value of 5
Give the opposite side the value of 3
Then the adjacent side will have a value of 4
This is a 3,4,5 right angled triangle
then,
cos theta = 4/5
tan theta = 3/4
cot theta = 4/3
(cotθ-tanθ)cosθ
(4/3 - 3/4)4/5
((16 - 9)/12)4/5
(7/12)4/5
=28/60
= 0.4667 (4 decimal places)
sin^-1 0.4667 = 152.2 degrees
cos^-1 0.4667 = -117.8 degrees
tan^-1 0.4667 = -155 degrees
