Question 976407: i am trying to work out the phase angle for the graph y = 3 + 4 sin (3x - 0.5)
amplitude = 4
periodic time = 2.1
frequency = 0.476
angular frequency = 2.991
phase angle = ????

The phase angle for the sine curve y = a sin(bx + c) is usually taken to be the value of c and the phase shift is given by −bc.
We are given,
y = 3 + 4 sin (3x - 0.5)
therefore
phase angle is -0.5
phase shift is -3 * (-0.5) = 1.5
