Question 975045: If x = Asinθ and y = Bcosθ, find an expression that does not involve θ.
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20065)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = Asinθ  <-- solve for sinθ

     sinθ = x/A

y = Bcosθ  <-- solve for cosθ

     cosθ = y/B

Use the well-known identity

sin²θ  + cos²θ = 1

(x/A)² + (y/B)² = 1
