Question 974975: A zip line starts at a platform in a tree, and decends into the forest with an angle of depression of 3.7 degrees. The zip line reaches a lower platform at a distance of 150 feet from the tree (measured horizontally). How much higher is the starting platform above the ending platform? Round to the nearest foot.
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The depression is opposite and the horizontal distance is adjacent.
This is the tangent, and tan 3.7= depression/150
150*tan 3.7=depression
10 feet. (9.7)
