Question 968781: Given y= 2sin4x - 4 what is the amplitude, midline, period, domain, range can you explain how to do it please
Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the standard form for sine function is
y = A sin(Bx + C) + D
where
- amplitude is A
- period is 2pi/B
- phase shift is -C/B
- vertical shift is D
*****************************************
we are given y = 2sin4x - 4
therefore we know that
amplitude is 2
vertical shift is -4
period is 360 / 4 = 90
domain is (-pi/2, pi/2)
range is (-2, -6)
midline is y = -4
here is a graph of the function
