Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the sector has a central angle of 80 degrees and the radius is 8.

the area of the sector will be 80 / 360 * pi * 8^2 which becomes 8 / 36 * 64 * pi which becomes 128/9 * pi square units.

the area of the whole circle is equal to pi * r^2 which is equal to 64 * pi.

the area of the sector is 80 / 360 of that which is equal to 8 / 36 * 64 * pi which is equal to 512 / 36 * pi which simplifies to 128 / 9 * pi square units.
