Question 956408: I'm having a little trouble with Algebra 2. Here's the problem. Find the exact value of each trigonometric function.
(A) sin 270o =
(B) cot (3 pi /2) =
I'm using a TI-83 Plus calculator, but I'm not sure how to input it. For (A) I came up with 'cot 4.71', but how do I calculate it?
PS, (A) and (B) are not part of the equation, my question is just divided into two parts.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Find the exact value of each trigonometric function.
(A) sin 270 degrees = -1
--------------------------------
(B) cot (3 pi /2) = 0
--------------------------------------
I'm using a TI-83 Plus calculator, but I'm not sure how to input it. For (A) I came up with 'cot 4.71', but how do I calculate it?
-------------------------
Since tan(3pi/2) = -oo, cot(3pi/2) = 1/tan(3pi/2) = 0
Or Use 1/tan(4.71) = 0
Make sure your "MODE" (3rd line) is set to RADIANS.
------------

A.
....recall that angle ° directly across ° on unit circle; ° is equal to then ° is equal to
B.
on unit circle corresponds to °
Let's start with tangent. Tangent at degrees is . Since is the reciprocal of , that means you have to do .
, then , which is your answer.
so,

or, do it using unit circle (cos, sin) values
we now that
we can see on unit circle that and
then
