If the laditude of Chicago is about 42 Degrees and the radius of the earth is about 4000 miles, how far is Chicago from the equator? (use pi = 3.1416)
----------------
The circumference of the earth = pi*d = 8000(pi)
--------------------
Let x be the distance of Chicago from the equation
x = (42/360)*8000pi
x = 2932.15 miles
