Write the expression log lower case a (y+5)+2log lower case a(x+1) as one logarithm.
Rule log A + log B = log AB
That means "when you add exponents you are multiplying"

log(y+5) + 2 log(x+1)
= log (y+5) + log (x+1)^2
= log [(y+5)(x+1)^2]
Note: The base on all of these is "a"
