Question 923769: Are my answers correct for expressing trig in terms of sine and cosine?
Write in terms of sine and cosine:
cos^2 θ(tan^2 θ+1) =?
cos^2 θ+ 1/(cosθ)
= cos^2 θ

(sec θ-cos θ)/(sin θ) = ?
= (1/(cosθ) - 1/(secθ))/(sinθ)

------------------------------------------------
Simplify the trig expression to a power of a single trig function:
(sec^2 x-1)/(sec^2 x)
the two sec^2 would cancel and would leave me with -1?
Are these right?
Thank you

Write in terms of sine and cosine:
cos^2(t)(tan^2(t) +1) =?
= cos^2*(sin^2/cos^2 + 1)
= sin^2 + cos^2
= 1
===========
------------------------------------------------
Simplify the trig expression to a power of a single trig function:
(sec^2 x-1)/(sec^2 x)
= 1 - 1/sec^2
= 1 - cos^2
= sin^2
