Question 917957: What are the trigonometric functions if sin t= (-1/4). sec t<0
Answer by lwsshak3(11628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What are the trigonometric functions if sin t= (-1/4). sec t<0
reference angle t is in quadrant III in which sin<0, cos<0.
sin(t)=-1/4 (given)
cos(t)=-√(1-sin^2(t))=-√(1-(-1/4)^2)=-√(1-(1/16))=-√(15/16=-√15/4
tan(t)=sin/cos=-1/-√15=√15/15
cot(t)=√15
csc(t)=-4
sec(t)=4/-√15=-4√15/15
