Question 87104: determine if the following measurements product one triangle, two triangles, or no triangles at all:
a=10, b=40, A=30degrees

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a=10, b=40, A=30degrees
----------------
If a=1 and A = 30 degrees,
then sin(A)= 10/hypotenuse
But sin (30) = 1/2
So, 1/2 = 10/hypotenuse
hypotenuse = 20
------------
But hypotenuse is the longest side of a right triangle and b=40
That is a contradiction.
---------------
Therefore these conditions give rise to no triangle.
