Question 864513: I have a major question that I am stumped on. I have been given a composition function, and I need to figure out what two functions combine to make it.
h(x) = x cos(x/2)
What two functions make up f(x) and g(x)?
Then I will go on to graph the f(x) and g(x), but I know how to do that. I just can't figure out which two functions combine to make the h(x) above.
Thanks.
Answer by rothauserc(4718) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
h(x) = x cos(x/2)
assume h(x) = f(g(x))
g(x) = x^2/2
f(x) = cos(x^2/2) = x cos (x/2)
