Question 862497: State the amplitude , period and phase shift of the following functions
a) y = 5 cos 3( x - π )
b) y = 2 sin 4( x + π/2 )
c) y = 2/5 cos 6( x - 2π/3)
d) y = 0.5 cos 5 ( x + 5π/4)
Can you please help me out? Thanks so much in advance:)

Answer by lwsshak3(11628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
State the amplitude , period and phase shift of the following functions
a) y = 5 cos 3( x - π )
amplitude=5, period=2π/3, phase shift=π (to the right)
..
b) y = 2 sin 4( x + π/2 )
amplitude=2, period=π/2, phase shift=π/2 (to the left
..
c) y = 2/5 cos 6( x - 2π/3)
amplitude=2/5, period=π/3, phase shift=2π/3 (to the right)
..
d) y = 0.5 cos 5 ( x + 5π/4)
amplitude=0.5, period=2π, phase shift=5π/4 (to the left)
note:
Equation for cos function: A cos(Bx-C), A=amplitude, Period=2π/B, Phase shift=C/B
Equation for sin function: A sin(Bx-C), A=amplitude, Period=2π/B, Phase shift=C/B
..
Let me know if my solutions are correct, helpful and understandable
