Find the equaiton in standard form of the parabola with the directrix x = 3 and vertex (1,-2)
-----
Sketch a picture of the directrix and the vertex.
Since the vertex is to the left of a vertical directrix,
the parabola form is (y-k)^2 = 4p(x-h) where 4p is negative.
-------
p = 1-3 = -2
----
(y-k)^2 = 4p(x-h)
(y+2)^2 = -8(x-1)
