Question 851369: exact value of sec^2(x)+tan(x)=1
Answer by lwsshak3(11628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
exact value of sec^2(x)+tan(x)=1
For: [0,2π)
Identity: sec^2(x)=1+tan^2(x)
1+tan^2(x)+tan(x)=1
tan^2(x)+tan(x)=0
tan(x)(tan(x)+1)=0
tan(x)=0
x=0, π
or
tan(x)+1=0
tan(x)=-1
x=5π/4, 7π/4
