We factor out the 2



The basic graph is 

 

Then x was replaced by 2x, which caused the graph to shrink horizontally
by a factor of 2. 

 

Then x was replaced by  which caused a left shift of ,
or the horizontal shift is   

  

Then  was added to the right side which caused a vertical shift
of  units down or a vertical shift of 

 

You only asked about the horizontal shift and the vertical shift.

The horizontal shift is , a left shift

The vertical shift is , a downward shift.
