cot = cos/sin.

cos = cos/sin * sin = cot * sin

Use fundamental identities to write the first expression in terms of the second, for any acute angle θ.
cos θ, cot θ
***
cot^2θ=cos^2θ/sin^2θ
cot^2θ=cos^2θ/1-cos^2θ
cot^2θ(1-cos^2θ)=cos^2θ
cot^2θ-cot^2θ*cos^2θ=cos^2θ
cos^2θ+cot^2θ*cos^2θ=cot^2θ
cos^2θ(1+cot^2θ)=cot^2θ
cos^2θ=cot^2θ/(1+cot^2θ)
take sqrt of both sides
cosθ=cotθ/√(1+cot^2θ)
