use factoring, the quadratic formula or identities to solve sec^2x+tanx=1. find all solutions on the interval [0,2pi).
-------
sec^2=tan^2+1
Your Problem:
tan^2+1+tanx+=1
tan^2+tanx-1=0
Use the Quadratic formula to get:
tanx = [1+-sqrt(1-4*1*-1)]/2
tanx = [1+sqrt5]/2 or tanx=[1-sqrt5]/2
x=58.28 degrees or x=58.28+180 degrees
x=-31.72 degrees or x=-31.72 + 180 degrees
