Question 787254: Solve the right triangle (C=90 degrees) for the given data. B=36 degrees a=9meters
Don't know how to solve this is it sin, tan, or cos, I did the complamentry angle theory and got the third angle A= 54 degrees, but how do I find b and c??

Answer by waynest(281)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
remember sin = a/h, cos = b/h, = tan = a/b
given: a = 9m; C = 90 degrees; B = 36 degrees
angle A = 180 - (90 + 36) = 54 degrees
hypontenuse = sin 54 = a/h
sin 54 = 9/h
h = 9/sin54
h = 11.1
h^2 - a^2 = b^2
11.1 ^2 - 9^ = b^2
b^2 = 42.21
b = sqrt42.21
b = 6.5m
angle A = 54 degrees; b = 6.5m; c = 11.1m
