You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x1 y1 x2 y2
8 -13 -4 5

The general equation of the line when co-ordinates of two points are given is

%28y-%09y1%29%2F%28%09y1-y2%29+=+%28x-x1%29%2F%28x1-x2%29

+%0912++++++%09%28y-%0913++++++%09%29+=%09-18++++++%09%28x-%098++++++%09%29

12y- 156 = -18 x -144

12 y= -18 x+ 12
/ 12
y= (-3/ 2) x+ 1

write the equation of the line:\ that passes through points
(8,-13) and (-4,5) in slope intercept form.
:
The slope/intercept form: mx + b = y
Replace x and y to form two slope/intercept equations:
8m + b = -13
-4m + b = 5
-------------subtraction eliminates b, find m
12m = -18
m = -18/12
m = -1.5
Find b using the 2nd equation
-4(-1.5) + b = 5
+6 + b = 5
b = 5 - 6
b = -1
:
The equation: y = -1.5x - 1
:
:
Check solutions in the 1st equation
8(-1.5) - 1 = -13
-12 - 1 = -13
