the sin function is positive in the first 2 quadrants.
the csc function is the reciprocal of the sin function and is also positive in the first 2 quadrants.
sin = opposite / hypotenuse
csc = hypotenuse / opposite.
opposite = vertical line of the triangle formed by the angle.
in the first and second quadrants, opposite side is positive.
in the third and fourth quadrants, opposite side is negative.
hypotenuse is always positive.
+/+ = +
+/- or -/+ = -
sin and csc are positive in quadrants 1 and 2.
sin and csc are negative in quadrants 3 and 4.
