x+y = -7.
Writing it in the slope-intercept form y = mx + c, where m is the slope and c is the y-intercept,
y = -x -7.
So, m = -1, y intercept = -7.

Subtract x from each side of the equation:
x + y - x = -7 - x
Combine like terms:
x - x = 0
