The flag stands in the centre of a field that measures 5 by 6.5the side along with diagonal of the field makes a right angled triangle
so diagonal=sqrt(6^2+6.5^2) =8.84 by pythagores theorem
now the flag is at the centre
so the required distance=1/2D=1/2*8.84=4.42
