Question 755368: Which of the following gives the solution of tan x = -1 in pi/2 < x < 3pi/2
(A) -Pi/4
(B) pi/4
(C) pi/3
(D) 3pi/4
(E) 5pi/4

Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
tan x = -1
tan is negative in the 2nd and 4th quadrant
Only the 2nd quadrant is in the range
pi/1< x < 3pi/2
So, pi - pi/4
= 3pi/4 (D)
Hope this helps
