cos(40) = 7.5/d
d = 9.8 km

Constructing a right angled triangle
with adjacent = 7.5 km
Angle =(360 - 320) 40 degrees.
To find: the hypotenuse
Using Cos = Adjacent/Hypotenuse
Cos (40) = 7.5/Hypotenuse
Hypotenuse = 7.5/cos 40
Hypotenuse = 9.8 Km (1 decimal place)
Therefore they are 9.8 km away from camp.
