Answer by Nate(3500)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Prob of Spade = 13/52 or Prob of Ace = 13/52
1/4 + 1/4 = 1/2 or 50%

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P(ace OR spade) = P(ace) + P(spade) - P(ace AND spade)
P(a OR s) = 4/52 + 13/52 - 1/52 = 16/52 = 4/13
