In class, we started by using the unit circle and searching for radicals that can be added to have the same denominator as the fraction given. My only issue is that how can I get the numerator to equal ONE pi.

Using the sum/difference formula find: sin(pi/12)

sin(pi/12) = sin[(pi/3)-(pi/4)] = sin(pi/3)cos(pi/4)-cos(pi/3)sin(pi/4)

= (sqrt(3)/2)(sqrt(2)/2) - (1/2)(sqrt(2)/2)
-----
= [sqrt(6)/4] - sqrt(2)/4)

= (sqrt(6)-sqrt(2))/4
