Question 723551: Please help!!!
From a point on the floor the angle of elevation to the top of a door is 51°, while the angle of elevation to the ceiling above the door is 59°. If the ceiling is 8.7 feet above the floor, what is the vertical dimension of the door (see the figure below)? (Round your answer to one decimal place.)

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let height of door be x
the ground distance is same for both=y
For door
Tan 51 = x/y
y=x/tan 51
Similarly y= 8.7/tan 59
x/tan 51 = 8.7/tan 59
x= tan 51 * 8.7/ tan 59
put the values you get the height of door
x= 1,23 *8.7/1.66
x= 6.45 feet
