Solve the equation
for [0,π/2]
3sin2x=3cosx
sin2x=cosx
2sinxcosx=cosx
2sinx=1
sinx=1/2
x=π/6

Toss out the 3's (they factor out) and use the trig identity
(1) s1n(2x) = 2sin(x)cos(x) to get
(2) 2sin(x)cos(x) = cos(x) or
(3) 2sin(x) = 1 or
(4) sin(x) = 1/2 or
(5) sin(x) = .5
Use your calculator to find
(6) x = sin^(-1)(.5) or
(7) x = 30 degrees

Is (3*sin(60) = 3*%28sqrt%283%29%29%2F2)?
