Question 711044: If a rectangle (8"*6") is reduced so that its length is 5" , what will be the reduced width?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8/5 = 6/x
8x = 5*6
8x = 30
x = 30/8
x = 15/4
x = 3.75
So the reduced width is 3.75 inches (ie 3 and 3/4 inches)
