How many revolutions will a tire with a radius of 12 inches make in 9.2 miles?
circumference of tire = 2(pi)r
circumference of tire = 2(3.14)12
circumference of tire = 75.36 inches (1 revolution)
.
convert 9.2 miles to inches:
9.2 miles * 5280 ft/mile * 12 inches/ft = 582912 inches
.
582912/75.36 = 7735 revolutions
