ln(x)= 3- ln(x+2) solve for x
ln(x)+ln(x+2)=3
ln[x(x+2)]=3
convert to exponential form
e^3=x(x+2)
e^3=x^2+2x
x^2+2x-e^3=0
x^2+2x-e^3=0
solve by following quadratic formula:

a=1, b=2, c=-e^3
ans:
x=3.5919
or
x=-5.5919 (reject, x>0)
