Question 661588: I am having a trouble solving this problem, if anyone could help me by showing step by step how it's done so I can go back over my work and see where I have gone wrong, Thanx.
Solve for z.
-6z+2=3z+4z+28
Prove your solution is correct.

solve for x======= -6z+2=3z+4z+28
2-6z=28+7z
move terms with z to the left side
subtract 7z from both sides
2+(-(6z)-7z)=(7z-7z+28)
add like termw in-(6z)-7z
-6z-7z=13z
2+-13z=(7z-7z)+28
look for terms that sum to zero,7z-7z=0,2-13z=28
isolate terms with z to the left
subtract 2 from both sides(2-2)-13z=28-2
look for two terms that sum zero,2-2=0,-13z=28-2
evaluate 28-2,28-2=26,-13z=26
solve for z,divide both sides of -13z=26 by -13
z=26/-13
simplify the sign of 26/-13
multiply your num & deno of 26/-13 by -1
z=-26/13
In -26/13 divide 26your num. by 13 your deno
26/13=13x2/13=2
z=-2
