Question 65236: I'm having trouble sloving a problem that uses cardinal directions as a part of the problem.
You wish to find a distance across a swamp.The bearing from A to B is N 32 degrees W. You walk 50 meters from A, and at the point C the bearing to B is N 68 degrees W. Find the bearing from A to C and the distance from a to B. Thanks

There seems to be some information missing in this problem.
If I head due N for the 50 m then the distance from A to B is 79 m.
If I head due E for the 50 m then the distance from A to B is 31 m.
Presumably I can head in any direction between N 32 W and S 32 E in a clockwise direction for the 50 m and each direction will have its own solution to the problem.
Recheck for the missing information.
