Question 627388: Solve 4 cos(theta) - 3 = 0 algebraically, where 0(degrees) is less than or equal to theta which is less than 360(degrees). Round to 4 decimal places. (Please show work)
Answer by hammy(9) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I am just going to use x instead of theta.
4cosx-3=0
4cosx=3
cosx=3/4
x=arccos 3/4
x=41.4096
But that is not the only solution since in the unit circle, the degree in the fourth quadrant for cos also holds as positive 3/4.
To find that other solution,do
360-41.4096=318.5904
