Question 605372: please help me identify this identity:
cos ^2 theta(tan^2 theta+1)+cot^2 theta= csc^2theta

please help me identify this identity:
cos ^2 theta(tan^2 theta+1)+cot^2 theta= csc^2theta
----
cos^2*(tan^2 + 1) + cot^2 = csc^2
----
Work on the left side:
sin^2 + cos^2 + cot^2 = csc^2
----
1 + cot^2 = csc^2
---
That is one of Pythagorean identities:
csc^2(theta) = csc^2(theta)
