Question 602708: I need help verifying this trigonometric identity:
cscTHETA * tanTHETA + cot^2THETA= csc^2THETA
I've worked out the problem, but I'm getting stuck after the following:
1/sinTHETA * sinTHETA/cosTHETA + cot^2THETA = csc^2THETA
1/cosTHETA + cot^2THETA = csc^2THETA
and this is as far as I've gotten.
Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
cscTHETA * tanTHETA + cot^2THETA= csc^2THETA
--------
csc*tan + cot^2 = csc^2
(1/sin)*(sin/cos) + cos^2/sin^2 = 1/sin^2
1/cos + cos^2/sin^2 = 1/sin^2
sin^2/cos + cos^2 = 1
