Question 597531: Sin^2 x= cos^2 x for 0 degrees less than or equal to x which is less than 360 degrees
I don't understand this problem at all and I am having trouble even being able to find it in my text book. If you could help me solve for x on this one, I think it would help me be able to better understand how to do it. Then, I will also have an example to look back on when working on other similar problems. Thank you for your time and help!

Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Sin^2 x= cos^2 x for 0 degrees less than or equal to x which is less than 360 degrees
-------
Sin^2 x= cos^2 x 0 <= x < 360
Sub (1 - sin^2) for cos^2
sin^2 = 1 - sin^2
2sin^2 = 1
sin^2 = 1/2
----
sin = -sqrt(2)/2, +sqrt(2)/2
x = 45 degs, 135 degs, 225 degs, 315 degs
