Question 596511: I dont really understand the concept of sin^2 theta?
I mean sin 30 = 0.5
and sin^2(30) = 0.5
How can that be? Should it be the square of that value?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sin2q

means the same as

(sinq)2

sin2q

is less to write than

(sinq)2

sin230° = (0.5)2 = 0.25
