Cosine = adjacent side of triangle divied by hypotenuse.

We use the Pythagorean Theorem from geometry to find the opposite side of the triangle.

x^2 + 4^2 = 7^2

x^2 + 16 = 49

x^2 = 49 - 16

x^2 = 33

sqrt{x^2} = sqrt{33}

x = sqrt{33}, which means square root 33.

Sine = opposite side of triangle divided by hypotenuse.

sine = sqrt{33}/7
